Set Up and Manage Client Billing Plans
VoiceAIWrapper lets you bill your clients on your own terms: connect Stripe for automatic payments, or handle billing off-platform. This guide walks through choosing a billing method, connecting Stripe, configuring pricing and tax, building billing plans, and assigning a plan to a client. Step 1: Open billing configuration. Click Billing Configuration to set up your payment and billing settings.
Step 2: Choose your billing method.
Stripe Billing. Connect your Stripe account for automatic recurring payments.
External Billing (off-platform). Handle payment yourself, outside VoiceAIWrapper. You can still create subscription plans and usage packs.
API-based billing. Connect a different payment processor. Configuration details are in the help documentation.
The rest of this guide covers the Stripe path.
Step 3: Connect Stripe.
Click Connect Stripe to link your Stripe account.
Enter your Stripe key in the designated input field.
Note: this step asks for an unrestricted Stripe key. Keep that key private and treat it like any sensitive credential.
Step 4: Review your Stripe setup. Use the tabs to check and configure details:
Overview: your Stripe billing setup status.
Pricing per minute: the Stripe unit configuration for per-minute charges.
Tax settings: your Stripe tax configuration.
Step 5: Build your billing plans.
Click Billing Plans to view and manage your plans.
Click Usage Packs to add usage package options.
You can also set up One-Time Charges.
When configuring a plan, you can select the Subscription + Overage pricing model (a recurring subscription plus overage for usage beyond the included amount).
Step 6: Assign a plan to a client. A plan does nothing until assigned. Make sure you assign the billing plan to the client account to start billing, then click the Plan & Pricing dropdown to select a plan for your client. Once assigned, your client is prompted to pay when they log into their client portal.
